Our sheriff’s office is partnering with our local Department of Social Services in spreading the message of awareness.

SHINING STAR AWARDED – DEPUTY POWELL

The Office of the Sheriff recently presented Deputy Powell with not one, but TWO,  Shining Star awards! The first one was for his compassion and professionalism shown to family during a death of their loved one. The family contacted our office after the incident and expressed their gratitude. The second award was for his dedication and attention to detail on a call at Smith Mountain Lake where boating equipment was missing, but was soon located and returned to the owners.
