UPDATE – On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, while additional search operations were being conducted for Jennifer Lynn Underwood, the body of an adult female was located deceased in a wooded area off of Hanover Courthouse Road near Georgetown Road.

The deceased individual has since been identified as Jennifer Lynn Underwood, who was reported missing on April 17, 2023. There were no signs of foul play observed.

The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who will determine the actual cause of death.

The investigation is still ongoing.

The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office extends their deepest condolences to the family of Jennifer Underwood during this difficult time.

Hanover, Va. – The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing adult. Jennifer Lynn Underwood, 48, was last seen in the 12000 block of Hanover Courthouse Road, near the Hanover Country Store. Underwood has multiple tattoos, including a butterfly tattoo under her left eye, a braided ring on her left middle finger and a rosary on her right hand. She also has “My Britt Bug” tattooed on the right side of her neck. She is described as a white female with red hair, blue eyes, is 5’6” tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds.
