PROTECT YOURSELF FROM PHONE SCAMS

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office continues its efforts to educate all residents on how to protect themselves and avoid losing money due to phone scams.

Our office, the courthouse, IRS or any other agency WILL NOT ask you to get money cards to rectify some issue. The moment the caller asks you to go purchase cards loaded with money amounts, understand this is a scam attempt. Don’t fall victim to scam phone calls, just hang up. JUST HANG UP!

PERMANENT FARM USE PLATES

The Office of the Sheriff is spreading the word about an upcoming law change.  Starting July 1, 2024, all farm vehicles in Virginia will need to display a DMV-issued permanent plate. Residents needing farm use plates can go to the VA DMV website and get their applications. VADMV FARM USE
