On December 22, 2023, the Honorable Sheriff Alisha Gregory of Henrico and the Honorable
Sheriff Vanessa R. Crawford of Petersburg were honored by the Continental Societies, Inc., the
Richmond, Virginia Chapter with the 2023-2024 “Champion for Children” award during their
33rd Annual Elegance in Black & White Gala held at the Richmond Downtown Marriott Hotel.
Continental projects help to make a difference in the lives of many children and youth in the
Commonwealth of Virginia. Both Sheriff’s were honored for their strong support and
commitment to enhancing the quality of life for disadvantaged and unprivileged children and
youth. Each of the Sheriffs have made significant impacts on the lives of children and their
families in their community and in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
