On June 11, 2024, Crater Criminal Justice Academy held its 111th Basic Jailor’s class. The class consists of recruits who completed a 13-week course that included training in emergency vehicle operations, firearms, defensive and control tactics, basic legal training, and several other important areas of law enforcement operations. Among those recruits was Deputy Gregory Wells from the Petersburg Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Wells has mastered a wide array of skills essential for law enforcement officers to ensure public and community safety. This rigorous training equips deputies with the necessary tools and knowledge to serve and protect effectively.
