Supporting Virginia’s Sheriffs & Deputies

For the second year in a row the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office is excited to have had a team participate in the Law Enforcement United “Road to Hope” bike ride.

The eight-member Norfolk Sheriff’s Office team – seven riders and one motors escort – left Chesapeake on Saturday, May 10, 2025, joining over 600 bike riders for the trip to Washington, D.C. for Police Week.

This ride serves as a way to honor and remember fallen officers and provide support for the survivors.

Leading up to the ride, the NSO team held multiple fundraisers and various training events to prepare for the 250-mile ride to Washington. In all they raised more than $14,000 for the cause.

This year’s event was particularly meaningful to the NSO team because each member was riding in memory of NSO’s Corporal Gibran Barclift who died in the line of duty in August 2017.

Corporal Barclift’s name was officially added to the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP) after last year’s ride, and he is now recognized as a fallen officer.

We would like to congratulate LT. Colonel Adams, Lt. Tolbert, Sgt. Little, Master Deputy Parker, Master Deputy Tardy, Master Deputy Chisholm, and Senior Deputy Tolbert for completing the ride and for a job well done.

Thank you to Master Deputy McKeon for participating as a Motors Escort.

And thank you all for representing the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office in this incredible event, you make us proud!
