The Petersburg Sheriff’s Office proudly participated in the Petersburg City Summer Youth Internship Program, providing two outstanding young men, Shawntez Clanton and Roynal Pegram, with the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in law enforcement and public service.
Throughout the internship, Shawntez and Roynal worked alongside Sheriff’s Office personnel, learning about the day-to-day operations of the agency while developing valuable workplace skills, professionalism, and an appreciation for serving their community. Their enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and positive attitudes made them a welcome addition to the Sheriff’s Office team.
“Investing in our youth is one of the greatest investments we can make in the future of our community,” said Sheriff Vanessa Reese Crawford. “Shawntez and Roynal demonstrated maturity, dedication, and a genuine desire to learn. We are proud to have been a part of their journey and hope this experience encourages them to continue pursuing their goals and making a positive impact wherever life leads them.”
The Petersburg Sheriff’s Office extends its appreciation to the City of Petersburg and the Petersburg Summer Youth Internship Program for providing meaningful opportunities that prepare young people for future success while strengthening connections between youth and law enforcement.
