The Southampton Sheriff’s Office welcomed three graduates of the Basic Jail Academy back to the office on December 15, 2020. Deputy Bristol Phillips graduated with top academic honors in his class. Deputy Phillips is the son of a Virginia Beach Police Department detective who was killed in the line of duty in 2008.
Deputy Michael Justus graduated second in his class academically. Deputy Justus is the son of a retired sergeant from the Franklin Police Department.
Deputy Christopher Phippins graduated with top firearms honors in the class.
