Alleghany County Sheriff Kyle Moore recently announced that the Alleghany Regional Jail provided a completion ceremony for inmates that enrolled in the celebrate recovery program that is offered in the jail. The program offers inmates the opportunity to correct past behaviors and learn ways to avoid situations that could land them back in jail. Inmates were provided pizza, cake and soda as a form or reward for their participation. Several inmates provided letters to the staff, thanking them for allowing the program to take place.
Sheriff Moore stated that “we are very hopeful that this program can reduce the recidivism that all jails experience and allow these folks to become productive citizens.”
Good News Church in Covington, VA is responsible for conducting the program and many thanks goes out to their volunteers.
Inmates received no good behavior time for attending this class.
