Under the leadership of Sheriff Karen Bowden, the Hampton Sheriff’s Office has been actively connecting with the community through a series of meaningful events focused on outreach, support, and engagement.
To foster stronger community relationships, the Sheriff’s Office recently hosted Donuts with a Deputy at Krispy Kreme. This informal event invited citizens to stop by, meet local deputies, and enjoy coffee and donuts in a relaxed setting. The event provided a welcoming space for open conversation and positive interaction between deputies and residents. Sheriff Bowden shared, “It’s important for our community to see the human side of law enforcement, and events like this help build those connections.”
The Hampton Sheriff’s Office also participated in the WELL Women Experience Resource Fair and Forgive Her Conference, hosted by Plan U. Sheriff Bowden addressed attendees with words of encouragement and support, in keeping with the event’s theme of healing, restoration, breakthrough, and purpose. The office’s involvement underscored their ongoing commitment to supporting women and families in Hampton.
In another act of community service, Sheriff Bowden and her team volunteered with the Peninsula Agency on Aging’s March for Meals, part of the national Meals on Wheels initiative. Deputies helped deliver hot meals to seniors across the community, ensuring that older adults received both nourishment and a friendly visit.
Whether serving meals, offering words of encouragement, or simply sharing coffee and conversation, the Hampton Sheriff’s Office continues to demonstrate its dedication to building a safer, more connected Hampton.
